March 18th Topic: Successful Culture-Fitting for candidates & employers

Presenter: Paul Cameron, Founder, SpeedUpMyJobSearch.com

As a job seeker, do you know what your culture fit is? How can you identify a company’s culture effectively while they are interviewing you? As the employer, do you know your ideal culture fit? Do you know how a potential employee would add or subtract from your organization’s cultural strengths? Join us while we explore both sides of this complex issue.

Meeting Agenda:
11:50am: Since this is a Zoom Webinar not a Meeting, attendees can only join in listen only mode. All “Attendees” who log in before 12pm will be manually promoted to “Panelists” so you can freely ask and answer questions during the meeting. There will be hiring managers on the call who will partake in the conversation and get to know you if you are free to speak with us. Chats will be difficult to monitor during the live discussion.

12pm: The meeting starts with a quick introduction of the topic and group, we thank the sponsors, and dive into the meeting.

A detailed outline of this meeting will be added soon.

In the Chicago area, multiple job clubs charge $20 to see ONE of these presentations. By taking our Advanced Networking Course you not only get a detailed networking plan to build your network, you also get instant access to ALL 50+ of these seminars given by some of the same presenters speaking at the other clubs.

Plus you get the first look at every new seminar each month! You can watch these seminars from anywhere, at any time, and unlike live presentations you can fast-forward through tips you already know, rewind to write down the ones you don’t, and you never have to sit through “can you guys see my screen” ever again!! Your time is too valuable for that.

There are no long term obligations. On going access to the club is just $19 per month, but if you prefer live meetings at predetermined times for $20 per meeting at the other clubs, you can cancel your $19 Job Club subscription any time with no questions asked…well…with no questions from us anyway, you may want to question yourself about that decision though. 🤣 kidding of course, do what you gotta do, we just hope it’s with us.

You won’t find a collection of seminars or a course like this anywhere else. If you want results from your networking, join this club!

November 18th Topic: Effective IT Interview Tactics for Employers

Presenter: Paul Cameron, Founder, SpeedUpMyJobSearch.com & President, DriveStaff, Inc.

Interviewing IT professionals can be challenging for a Non-Tech Leader (NTL) AND for a Tech Leader (TL). When the TLA’s start flying (Three Letter Acronyms), the NTLs often struggle to understand and the TLs who only know a TLA as a 3CA (3 Character Abbreviation) might TKO an MPC without realizing they were A-OK! We need to fix this ASAP! LOL!

Tech-Speak aside, how do you compare true interpersonal skills to the corporate team culture if the talented computer programmer is extremely introverted?

Yes, there are numerous IT pro’s who are outgoing and personable, but there are many others who are more comfortable communicating with computers in code than with coworkers in social situations.

Some of the most talented technologists I’ve ever placed into jobs got extremely nervous and awkward in their interviews. If an employer isn’t using an experienced IT recruiter like me to help, how can they see through the nerves to know what they will be like in their normal day to day work? We will be talk about this and much more.

In this meeting you will learn:
1. An IT Interview Process Mistake that can destroy a company brand
2. How to set up an IT Interview for productivity before it starts
3. Interpersonal ‘tells’ with corresponding job fit questions
4. 3 ways to attract better talent by how you interview
5. The best* interview schedule (how many meetings, in what order, and by whom)

*best meaning the ‘most effective’ in assessing skills, determining culture fit, strengthening company brand, minimizing counteroffers, and attracting top talent that I have seen my clients use over my 23 year IT recruiting career. I’ve seen it used in multiple industries by companies of all sizes, and it consistently works.

If you want to improve your company’s ability to interview IT professionals, join us! Or as an IT professional yourself, if you want to learn how to tailor your interview style to help the companies that do NOT interview well, join us!

We are limited to 100 attendees for our meetings, so register now to ensure you have a seat!

Is it Free to attend?

Yes! …and no. We believe in delivering value first, so we do not charge attendance or registration fees. Just like we don’t tip waiters while making dinner reservations, we don’t charge patrons for planning to attend our meetings.

Instead, we employ an attendance tipping system for after our meetings. If you attend and feel the information delivered is worthwhile, then we request you leave an Attendance Tip of any amount commensurate with the value you received.

If, however, you attend and feel the content is awful, then we insist you do NOT pay for attending, and instead share a suggestion, what we call an Advice Tip, to help us understand how to make it better next time.

If everyone commits to doing one or the other, then we are guaranteed to exponentially improve our meetings every single month by either increasing our available resources or by the helpful advice from our attendees. Thank you in advance for your commitment to helping us improve through this tip system.

Both Tip types will indicate which topics delivered value and which ones didn’t. Thanks for participating!
